Project Engineer

Ms. Somermeyer has been a practicing engineer since 1984, and a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Colorado since 1990. She has a broad background in civil engineering design, environmental remediation design, water resources engineering, project management, and construction management.
Ms. Somermeyer has provided the engineering design and project management for several civil and environmental projects. Her responsibilities have included project management, design engineering, and contract administration.
Ms. Somermeyer has been involved in a variety of post-remediation site redevelopment projects that include site design for canals, roads, utilities, grading and drainage; as well as wetland design for mitigation. She has prepared designs and provided construction oversight for numerous landfills and subsurface soil and groundwater remediation systems. Additional work has included the preparation of release control plans for construction activities, stormwater pollution prevention plans, and NPDES permit applications. Additionally, Ms. Somermeyer worked as a Water Resources Engineer for the State of Utah, performing project feasibility studies, conducting and analyzing watershed hydrology inventories, and evaluating storage facilities.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Prepare complete site engineering design, including plans and specifications.
• Perform project management activities;
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses;
• Coordinate facilities and geotechnical evaluation;
• Inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with contract provisions;
• Design of water and sewer systems for residential and commercial developments.
