Full Job Description

Salary Range: $40,000-$90,000

Actual compensation offered to candidates may vary outside of the posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level. Responsibilities & Success Factors:

• Excellent computer proficiency and competency with standard business office applications including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office 365 Suite, Excel, and other related software.

• Works in conjunction with the project manager/engineer on the design of grading and utilities for the development of new residential and commercial subdivisions, educational facilities, and municipal projects.

• Planning: ability to think ahead and plan within timelines and resources; develop scopes, plan and schedule work; set priorities and goals; anticipate and adjust for design issues; evaluate workloads; measure and evaluate performance against established goals.

• Time management: the ability to successfully plan and implement objectives within established timelines and work schedules.

• Check, verify, and provide quality control for own designs as well as the designs of other designers and engineering staff.

• Ability to work efficiently on multiple projects at one time and prioritize time sensitive deadlines.

• Strong collaborative skills, accomplish tasks by working with others and being a good team player. Recognizes how their decisions may impact others; seeks input from others.

• Attends technical training seminars/webinars.

• All other duties assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education and Training:

• Associate degree in Drafting, Civil, or other related engineering technology area or technical discipline, or equivalent combination of related education and/or experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability

• Knowledge of site engineering design standards.

• Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills.

• Broad knowledge of computer aided design standards and practices.

• Committed to client service and adherence to project schedules and deadlines.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Self-motivated and able to work independently.

• Ability and willingness to travel within Colorado on occasion. (Must possess a valid driver's license.)

• Ability to work Collaboratively with WCE staff, is eager to learn, asks questions, and propose solutions.

• Must be able to demonstrate that he/she can perform all of the essential functions of the position within a 30-day evaluation period.

• Must be able to lift 50lbs

Experience

• 4-6 years of working experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D software and tools.

• Strong candidates will have an extensive background in land development projects.

This is a professional position responsible for providing civil engineering design and CAD support for land development projects utilizing Civil 3D software.

Tasks generally include: construction drawing plan production; the preparation of project base mapping using a variety of GIS coordinate systems; optimizing existing Civil 3D plan production standards; knowledge of Civil 3D Sheet Set Manager, Pipe Networks, and View Frame Groups, and preparation of plan and profile sheets for various utilities.
